benefits to winners
Each year section committee will choose up to four winning groups. Each group will receive $10,000 ($5,000/year for two years) to use as they see fit. After the first year each group is asked to provide an update on the groups activities and accomplishments.
eligibility
  • The award honors the work of groups, not individuals.
  • To be considered, a group’s origins must be informal, and not initiated by an organization, nonprofit, or government program or service.
  • The group must demonstrate a positive impact on their community.
  • Group must live and act in the United States.
nominations

Nominations are closed for 2013. Thank you to everyone who submitted. Winners will be announced in June of 2013.

Submissions are welcome through-out the year and select nominees may be profiled on this website. Early submission enables us to get to know your group better. Nominees are encouraged to submit additional materials (pictures, video, etc.)

The deadline for submissions to the Torchlight Prize 2013 is December 21st, 2012. Finalists will be selected by February 1st, 2013. The winners will be announced in June 2013.
